The North County Loop would be in Lexington Township

The North County Loop would be a circular route utilizing existing roadways to connect the north Alliance area to the trail network of Walborn and Deer Creek Reservoirs. The eastern leg of the loop will begin at Earley Hill Park and go along the natural areas west of the Mahoning River to Deer Creek Reservoir. The trail will be directed over the dam separating Deer Creek and Berlin Reservoirs, providing a breathtaking panorama. Final design of this $1.3 million project is scheduled to begin in 2004, with partial funding provided by a $420,000 Clean Ohio Fund Grant and a $582,000 ODOT Enhancement Grant. Completion is expected by 2006.

The northern leg of the loop will go west along Price Street, turning south along McCallum and utilizing Snode, Freshley and Vine Streets to return to Alliance. The route through sparsely developed residential and industrial areas would provide local access to Walborn and Deer Creek Reservoirs and would complete the connection of the Price/Pontius Trail to north-south trails along the eastern edge of the county.
