The Hartville/Quail Hollow Loop is within Hartville and Lake Township.
Within Hartville, a trail is proposed to showcase the historic
commercial and residential district. The area is well established as a destination spot
for antique shoppers, and a tourist trade has developed around the community's Amish
heritage. The architecture and unique shops give the town an appealing character. Quaint
and inviting streets and alleys are ideal for walking
tours and bike routes. The commercial establishments as well as an historic train station,
cemetery and basket making industry all contribute to the area's distinctiveness.
Although already a regional tourist destination, much can be done to enhance this
activity.
Linkages with Quail Hollow State Park, the David Fichtner Center, and the regional greenway system will enhance the town's existing appeal. Overnight accommodations are needed for visitors to take advantage of the many shopping and recreational
opportunities. A trail connection is recommended along Prospect and Congress Lake Avenue to Quail Hollow. Internal trails within this state park extend users' options for additional hiking and biking. An existing wildlife migration corridor has been identified as a possible cross-county link back to Route 619. The proposed trail usage will be for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians.
