DESCRIPTION OF RENTAL FACILITIES

SIPPO LAKE PARK – EAST ENTRANCE

5300 Tyner Street NW, Canton, Ohio 44708
Off Perry Drive between West Tuscarawas Street and 12th Street NW.

SIPPO LAKE CLUBHOUSE/DECK
Description: A heated and air-conditioned room ideal for family reunions, club meetings, and parties. Renovated during summer of 1998.
Seating Capacity: 55 people – overflow available on covered outside deck (weather permitting).
Facilities:
  • Electricity & air conditioning
  • Kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave
  • Running water and restrooms
  • Adjacent to the Sippo Lake Marina which rents boats, sells bait, tackle, and food.
  • Pontoon boat rides available at $20 per hour.
  • 216-foot fishing pier
Schedule of Reservations
Rental periods for the Clubhouse and Boat Shelter are broken into two (2) time periods per day: 10am to 3:30pm and 5:30pm to 11pm. There are two (2) hours scheduled between reservations to allow the staff to clean the facility and set up for the next reservation. Reservations can be made for combined morning and evening time periods, in which case the daily rate applies.

SIPPO LAKE BOAT SHELTER
Description: Unique and attractive open-air picnic shelter in the shape of a ship. Great for larger reunions and special occasions, including weddings. Available for spring, summer, and fall activities.
Seating Capacity: 90 people
Facilities:
  • Kitchen with running water
  • Electricity
  • Stove & refrigerator
  • Outside patio
  • Grill
  • Near marina, rest rooms, boat dock

PETROS LAKE PARK

(Perry Drive SW extension, Perry Township)

Petros Lake Park is 2.2 miles south of Tuscarawas St./Lincolnway, immediately west of the Timken Faircrest steel mill.

Shelter #2 & Shelter #3
Description: Two covered picnic shelters with electricity. Shelter #2, top of the hill overlooking the lake. Shelter #3 to the right as you drive through the park. Both are equipped with a grill.
Seating Capacity: 30 to 35 people per shelter.
Facilities:
  • 12-acre fishing lake
  • Baseball fields
  • Volleyball court (near Shelter #3)
  • Horseshoe courts
  • 1.2-mile walking trail

FAIRCREST PARK

North side of Faircrest Avenue SW, east of Dueber Avenue AND I-77, west of Cleveland Avenue.

Shelter #4 (Bissler Shelter) and Shelter #5.
Description: Two covered picnic shelters
Seating Capacity: 30-35 people per shelter
Facilities:
  • Grill
  • Shelter #5 has a fireplace
  • Playground

WALBORN & DEER CREEK RESERVOIRS

Lexington and Marlboro Townships, with access off Price Street.

Description: Under a cooperative agreement with the city of Alliance, the two reservoirs came under the jurisdiction of the Stark County Park District in early 1998. These waters encompass more than 2,700 acres, providing outstanding opportunities for fishing and boating. Future facilities are expected to include shore-side hiking trails, picnic areas, and a marina.
