You’re Invited…to Join the Friends of Stark Parks

Friends of Stark Parks is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the development and use of Stark County Park District parks and trails. Friends serve the park district as volunteers, promoting the parks, stimulating the use of the parks’ resources and services, helping at park events, and assisting in the development of new programs. We invite your involvement as a Friend and volunteer.

The Friends of Stark Parks sponsors a golf outing and the Canal Classic 5K running race on the Ohio & Erie Canal towpath trail. Other projects of the Friends of Stark Parks include installation of sandstone benches along the Ohio & Erie Canal towpath, planting of trees in Petros Lake Park, purchasing the costume for the park district's frog mascot, FeLeap, sponsoring a strategic study for the park district and contributing funds for the completion of the Hoover Connector Trail, and partial purchase of horses for the Canal Fulton Heritage Society canal boat. Meetings for the Board of The Friends of Stark Parks are held every January, March, May, July, September and November.

To join the Friends of Stark Parks, please send a check to Friends of Stark Parks, 5300 Tyner Street NW, Canton, OH 44708. For information on becoming a volunteer, call Jennifer Martin at (330) 477-3552.
