BOATING
Boating Rules & Regulations:
Boats permitted on Sippo Lake shall not exceed a hull length of 21 feet.
All boats are required to display current Ohio boating license sticker and Ohio License
number.
No registration fee is required to launch a private boat, however all state and local
rules governing boats must be observed.
All private boats on Sippo Lake, Walborn Reservoir and Deer Creek Reservoir must be launched
from the launching ramp provided and are encouraged to check in at the the park Marina
prior to launch. Exception: property owners adjoining Sippo Lake may launch their boats from
their property, provided they also comply with all state and local regulations. Sippo Lake
homeowners with lawful watercraft annually will be issued a permit for seasonal mooring from April 1 to
October 31.
All boats (motorized and non-motorized) on Sippo Lake, Walborn Reservoir, and Deer Creek Reservoir
after dark are required to be
equipped with the correct navigation lights by the manufacturer. In any case, the lights
must be displayed according to the state rules described in the current Ohio Boat
Operators Guide except that non-motorized boats must have permanent lights. All
boats must be off the lake 30 minutes before park closing time.
All private boats are required to have necessary safety equipment including personal
flotation devices (PFD). Fire extinguishers are required on boats with closed compartments for
gasoline motors regardless of whether or not the motor is being used.
By Ohio law, children 10 and younger are required to wear a PFD (Personal Flotation Device)
while boating. All
persons using Stark County Park District boats must wear a PFD, regardless of age.
No person shall be permitted to launch, moor and/or operate a pontoon boat on Sippo
Lake in Perry Township, Stark County, Ohio.
No swimming is permitted in any Stark County Park District lake or waterway.
To operate a powerboat with more than 10 HP, mandatory boater education is required if you
were born after January 1, 1982. Stark Park's Education Center offers Ohio Boater Education
Courses. Call (330) 477-3552 for dates and fees.

Ohio Revised Code Section 1547.11 states "No person shall operate,
be in physical control of any vessel underway, or manipulate any water skis, aquaplane, or
similar devise upon the waters in this state if any of the following applies:
1.) The person is under the influence of alcohol or a drug of abuse, or the combined
influence of alcohol and a drug of abuse;
2.) The person has a concentration of ten-hundredths of one per cent or more by weight
of alcohol in his/her blood;
3.) The person has a concentration of fourteen-hundredths of one gram or more by weight
of alcohol in his/her urine;
4.) The person has a concentration of ten-hundredths of one gram or more by weight of
alcohol per two hundred ten liters of his/her breath.

Sippo Lake Pontoon Boat Rental:
Pontoon boat rides for groups are available for $20 per hour. For more information or reservations, please

You must be 18 years of age to rent a motor boat and 16 years of age for row or pedal
boats.
You may bring your own trolling motor and put it on a rental boat. |

Size/bag limits:
Fish may be taken provided they are of minimum size as
established by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. (Exception: Bass must be a
minimum of 15 inches in length.) All catch limits are as set forth by the Ohio Department
of Natural Resources.
No set lines, bank lines, trout lines, or float lines are
permitted in Park waters.
Ice fishing is at your own risk and only when posted by the
Park Office.

Ice is never considered safe to walk on. Ice skating, ice fishing, and walking on the ice for any
reason is strictly at your own risk.
HUNTING
Stark Parks Sponsors Lottery
For Walborn Waterfowl Blinds
A lottery for the use of ten waterfowl blinds at Walborn Reservoir is held annually on 2nd Saturday in September, at Walborn Reservoir Marina, northwest of Alliance on Price Street. Registration for the lottery will begin at 8 am, with the drawing to take place at 9 am. The lottery is sponsored by the Stark County Park District. Call 330-477-3552 for exact date.
All blinds will be available for daily use, and nonrefundable fees of $10 per day must be paid in cash or by check on the day of the lottery. Participants must bring the following:
- Photo identification
- Last year's or this year's hunting license
- Last year's or this year's federal and state duck stamps
Hunters must be present for the drawing to claim their days
All Ohio and federal hunting and fishing regulations will apply
One of the blinds available is handicap - accessible. It is off of the park district's Reader Road parking lot. " It is accessible for wheelchairs via a paved path right up to the blind," explained Darrin Petko, Stark Parks' natural resources manager. It is Blind #7A and will be available on a first come - first served basis for $10 per day. The blind will be available the day of the lottery, or thereafter by calling Jennifer Martin at 330 477 3552.
On the main body of Walborn Reservoir, waterfowl hunting will be permitted from Stark Park blinds only. Stark Parks' blinds will be available five days per week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Open waterfowl hunting on Walborn Reservoir will be allowed from Price Street north to German Church, and between Strop Street and Atwater in Portage County.
Maps showing the hunting zones around Walborn will be available at the lottery. Additional information about hunting, fishing, and boating at Stark County Park District facilities is available by calling Jennifer at 330 477 3552.
