DUCK BLINDS

A lottery for the use of ten waterfowl blinds at Walborn Reservoir is held annually on the second Saturday in September, at Walborn Reservoir Marina, northwest of Alliance on Price Street. Registration for the lottery will begin at 8 am, with the drawing to take place at 9 am. Duck Blind Reservations can also be made after the lottery for available dates.  The lottery is sponsored by the Stark County Park District. Call 330-477-3552 for exact date.

Blinds are also available for early goose season and youth hunt programs. Blind 7A is handicapped accessible and about 200 hundred yards from the parking area on Reeder Ave.

All blinds will be available for daily use, and nonrefundable fees of $10 per day must be paid in cash or by check on the day of the lottery. Participants must bring the following:

  1. Photo identification
  2. Last year's or this year's hunting license
  3. Last year's or this year's federal and state duck stamps

Hunters must be present for the drawing to claim their days.  All Ohio and federal hunting and fishing regulations apply.

If you are making a reservation for the first time, bring your materials to the Exploration Gateway at 5712 12th St NW in Canton.  After approval you will be able to make Duck Blinds reservations in person or by clicking the link below. 

Duck Blinds reservations

Duck Blind dates are available for Early Goose season Sept. 1 - Sept. 15, 2010 and teal season Sept. 4 - 19 all days except Tuesday and Thursday.  Duck blinds are available from Oct. 16 through Dec. 6 all days except Tuesdays and Thursdays and again from Nov. 20 - Dec. 19 all days except Tuesday and Thursday.
